Public Access To The Finish Area

Spectators may come to the Portland Riverside Marine and visit the raft race finish area, the band pavilion, and explore the shoreline where the rafts land after the race. This marks the first time since the heyday’s of the raft race when the public can come to the Raft Race to observe and participate in the activities at the finish line. The Race Committee is hopeful that this exposure will enhance event awareness while also increasing participation at subsequent raft race events. This change also offers existing participants the option of inviting their friends and family along to enjoy the day and have some fun. The Race Committee intends to grow the event, make it more accessible, and promote the race as a family oriented event. The Race Committee is hopefully that you will come join us and see what raft racing is all about.
